SOCIAL JUSTICE TEAMS
Anti Racism Curriculum Team
Our Anti-Racism Curriculum Team has developed and facilitates trainings for Jewish communities on white supremacy, racial justice, and antisemitism with a specifically Jewish lens. Check out our website to learn more about the ‘Our Liberation is Bound Together’ curriculum, and contact curriculum@kavodboston.org to get involved.
Our Housing Justice Team goes door-knocking to inform homeowners and tenants of their rights as their dwellings are foreclosed upon. Through a partnership with City Life/Vida Urbana, the team helps folks organize to fight unfair foreclosures and evictions. To find out more, please contact Roz Freeman at rozfreeman1@gmail.com.

Our Ujima Team works closely with the Boston Ujima Project to build a network of faith organizations across Greater Boston to support Ujima’s vision to redistribute decision-making power, investment, and resources to black, brown, and working-class local communities. Community
Safety Team
Our Community Safety Team is building alternative structures, practices, and networks to keep our community and our partners' communities safe without relying on police or militarized security. To get involved, reach out to Hannah Freedman at kavodcommunitysafety@gmail.com.
IMMIGRATION JUSTICE WORK
BIJAN: Boston Immigration justice Accompaniment network
BIJAN is a network of faith communities, individuals and other activist groups working to reduce the escalating harm of our immigration system in the current political context. Kavod members have been organizing with and supporting BIJAN's work for years. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Rachie Lewis at rachielew@gmail.com.
Sanctuary
Team
Kavod was part of the JP/West Roxbury Sanctuary cluster, a coalition of local congregations which provided sanctuary (safe housing) to an individual at risk of deportation during 2017-2018, as well as support to an asylum-seeking family in 2019. Though the cluster is not currently active, we remain ready to mobilize if needed again. Contact Rachel Berkowitz at messaging@kavodboston.org for more information.

Rosh Chodesh Team
The Rosh Chodesh Team works together to plan Kavod's monthly Rosh Chodesh (New Moon) gatherings. The team works to create space that is warm and accessible to all who wish to join.

Accountability
Team
The Accountability Team works to research and create communal infrastructure to prevent, address, and intervene in interpersonal and intra-community harm. We work to create systems, processes, and structures that run counter to the values of our criminal (in)justice system. Our work is informed by the values of transformative justice. For more information, please contact Leah Robbins at leahfayerobbins@gmail.com
Accessibility
Team
Our Accessibility Team is creating a space that centers disabled voices in order to improve the culture of accessibility at Kavod. We seek to understand how disability and ableism are expressed in our Jewish tradition, texts, and social spaces, and how they intersect with other marginalized identities we hold. To find out more, please contact Rachel Drucker at accessibility@kavodboston.org.
