Sanctuary
Team

Kavod was part of the JP/West Roxbury Sanctuary cluster, a coalition of local congregations which provided sanctuary (safe housing) to an individual at risk of deportation during 2017-2018, as well as support to an asylum-seeking family in 2019. Though the cluster is not currently active, we remain ready to mobilize if needed again. Contact Rachel Berkowitz at messaging@kavodboston.org for more information.

Accountability
Team

The Accountability Team works to research and create communal infrastructure to prevent, address, and intervene in interpersonal and intra-community harm. We work to create systems, processes, and structures that run counter to the values of our criminal (in)justice system. Our work is informed by the values of transformative justice. For more information, please contact Leah Robbins at leahfayerobbins@gmail.com

Accessibility
Team

Our Accessibility Team is creating a space that centers disabled voices in order to improve the culture of accessibility at Kavod.  We seek to understand how disability and ableism are expressed in our Jewish tradition, texts, and social spaces, and how they intersect with other marginalized identities we hold. To find out more, please contact Rachel Drucker at accessibility@kavodboston.org.
